Now that autumn's officially here, I couldn't wait to do at least a little decorating. I love looking at door decorations this time of year. Some people hang a little spray and others cover their entire doors. I hung our huge, adorable scarecrow head (not scary looking--he smiles, has an adorable hat, and there's a lot of well-placed raffia sticking out all over the place) on the door and did some indoor decorating.

Pumpkins and other fall/Halloween-themed outdoor decorations will come a little later.

How about you?

I tend to leave the front door unadorned. You really can't see much with the storm door anyway.
I decorate the porch instead.

just hanging up the autumn wreath. Did the halloween decorations one year and it's just too time consuming. Same with Christmas lights. But the Christmas wreath is easy.

There might be a dead spider there. The only "people" that would see anything hung there are deer and dogs.

What's Hanging On Your Front Door?

Cobwebs. We go through the garage, not the front door. Hmm, maybe I better check to see if there are any flyers hanging there. Thanks for the reminder...

Nothing. (I'm not even sure if it's permitted under HOA guidelines, I'm in a high-rise. I'm curious now, I'll check the bylaws when I get home.)

Nothing. Since I have a storm door, wreaths tend to get squashed flat between the doors.

I currently have an autumn themed grapevine wreath that I made myself (including the huge bow). I put it out on Saturday in honor of the first day of fall which started on Sunday. I also switched out my little garden flag to an autumn one with lots of pumpkins and little black kitties on it - it is in my flower bed that I put in this summer - with lots of perennial goodies in it!! I have a bunch of wreaths, mostly handmade by me - and I keep one on my front door year round - and changed out with the change of seasons.
