Don't even bother-
Do it once, do it right!

Or don't do it at all.

Demo the tile down to the subfloor, and install a 3/8" underlayment to stick the tiles too.
3/8 in. x 4 ft. x 8 ft. Particleboard Underlayment-604461 at The Home Depot
If you're going to paint, spray it while you have it down instead of second rate brush & roller jobs some think are acceptable.

Every Sunday I sit down on the big white chair with the funnies and a horrible sense of shame that my bathroom walls were done with a roller and brush. The horror.

Moby-
I also really admire people who give advice and claim one product over another- and then you read this in the description:
" When using as a underlayment it is recommended not to use in moist areas such as a bathroom."
Actually, I was being sarcastic, there was no admiration at all!
And what does painting walls have to do with fixing/replacing floor?

Maybe the idea of replacing what are apparently perfectly functional ceramic tiles with vinyl flooring has us all out of sorts.

Clean the grout lines and leave the tile. Buy some nice thick bath rugs and scatter them about.

Mine has particle board and lino? Should I sell and move? In my kitchen too? Maybe I should be ashamed? I would assume if one rips up the floor for a remodel paint would be in order.

This is a very entertaining thread.

If I am going to put particle board down. How many coats of sealer do I need?

And should I seal the walls before painting with a sprayer?
