I live on a busy, noisy street with idiots that make a lot of noise. I'd like to filter them out.

I searched for a window system that lets in air and light but not so much noise and there isn't anything much.
So I thought I'd rig up some ductwork from the window into the room with a few bends in it and perhaps some sound absorbing materials to filter out the idiots.
I'm wondering if round is better than square (is rectangular even used?).
Square or rectangular would be easy to disassemble I think so I could try different linings or baffles to break up the sound. I experimented with dryer hose (about 4" that is like a elasticized and it was amazing how little noise came down that tube if there were some bends in it. Perhaps it was because the ridges blocked out the sound. The frequencies I'm aiming to filter are about 200 hz to high, squealing, children's voices. Probably about 2000 hz or so. A woman's voice is around the middle of the piano which is about 300 hz. A 440 is just about the middle. But then again higher frequencies seem to be easier to filter than lower. Thankfully we don't have cars driving around with subs. That would be a real challenge.
