Researchers in Norway are testing an entirely new kind of heat pump. While heat pumps used today typically last 10 to 20 years, the new one will last practically indefinitely, the scientists believe.
The new heat pump consists of many miniature heat pumps as small as one cubic millimeter. To heat a house one needs several thousand of them. They are put together into larger units that can be tall and thin or short and wide.
That's cool. I'm gonna replace my boiler with that, if it ever dies. It's been chugging along for 95 years already. It turns out a no pump hot water heating system lasts a long time too...
Sounds kind of compliacted and i doubt anyhtig that has a maetal case or coloing parts wil last that long.Potentail a elctronic devise has a long period of the solid stae components. realitically they last from zero to 99 years as tested but other things go first making rebuilds higher than replacement often.
