Saint those are some cheap ugly junk. They are just Walmart quality corrugated cardboard boxes. They are only one step above the Chinese brand cabinets. Only thing they have over the Chinese brands is they are not infested with formaldehyde and sulfer.

We in the west as a whole do not like that Euro frameless style. Those in Europe hate our framed cabinets. There are good and bad arguments for both types of cabinetry. I love the business but if taste started to turn to that ugly frameless style I would leave the business in a heart beat.

Uh, taste is subjective. Some people like clean, modern, sleek lined look. Here in the U.S. we seem to have a bizarre obsession with gaudy Tuscany, boring traditional (think old Ethan Allan) or Louis XIV on acid look. Did I mention taste is subjective?

Sure, Ikea isn't designer top line product but it allows many people to afford a certain look that they may not otherwise obtain. Better than the alternative of not being able to afford anything and living with your 1975 avocado green kitchen. Then again, some people don't mind that either.

Good and bad argument for frameless vs. non-frameless? What would that be? It's a matter of taste.

I have and I love it!
Those frameless styles look very contemporary and are very easy to clean!
desertsun: most contemporary kitchens are frameless – is just a different style; you don't need to like it, but accept the fact that other might do...

I like the look of the IKEA kitchens, but not quality is not there, most of it is laminate and I could see it needing to be replaced sooner then later. I looked at IKEA when redoing our kitchen.

I agree!
I could say that all those "wannabe"; fake Tuscany, Louis XV, French or English Country, “antique”, baroque etc. grandiose furniture look gross and very much a new-rich style.
But… taste is subjective and should be not criticized

I also love the look of IKEA kitchens but I can't really comment on the quality. My sister installed IKEA cabinets and a wet bar in her family room that extend along the length of one wall. They look great, and are holding up really well after 8 or 9 years, but again they don't get as much wear and tear as they would in a kitchen. Most of the upper cabinets are just used for display and the lower ones are used for storage.

Ahhh finially some one who gets it. Yes indeed style is a matter of personal taste. But the difference between junk and quality is not and usually very obvious to the educated consumer.

For those of you who think partical board is a dirty filthy curse word then whataya doing buying IKEA anyway?

I read the complaints and I agree with the consumers who been ripped off.

I rest my case when I call them junk.

5 months to get your order? That is 4 months and 2 weeks to long in my book.
