I got all my curtains from Country Curtains. When I lived in Jersey I would frequent the Ridgewood store....15 min away! They have everything. I love that place! You can go online and request their catalog.

We have always had great luck with JC Penny, both catalog and in-store.

These curtains are beautiful! Maybe for my next house. OR better yet, if I get to redecorate another apartment!

I am in the "make it yourself" camp. Find the fabric you like and if you do not know how to sew, find a friend who has a sewing machine to show you how to do it. A small inexpensive sewing machine and fabric may end up costing you less than buying curtains or custom curtains for an entire house.

Making the "pocket" type (where you insert the rod into a pocket that runs along the entire top of the curtain) is very easy on a sewing machine and if you can sew in a straight line you can actually do them by hand. I have made this type of curtain from bed sheets before when the fitted sheet on a matching set tore and I bought a new matching set. I made curtains from the flat sheet and little cafe curtains from the pillowcases. I sewed them by hand and it took longer than it would with a sewing machine but I did not have one! It took hours but cost me nothing more than the needle and thread. Tab tops are a little more challenging but still not very difficult. I have never made the type with grommets so I have no idea how hard they would be to do!

I've bought many window treatments from Custom window treatments, draperies, valances, custom bedding. They make the treatments in the fabric you want and ship really fast. Every time I've ordered I received my valances and curtains in about 8 days and the quality is so much nicer than Penneys and Country Curtains.
