I'm thinking of painting my hollow core interior doors but I'm not sure what color I should paint them. All the doors are located off one hallway which is painted sage green with pale yellow trim. Do I paint the side of the door that's facing the hallway the color of the walls or the color of the trim and then do I paint the other side of the doors the color of the walls or trim in each bedroom? What would you do (other than replacing them with better doors)?
Paint them in dark teakwood or mahogany color, white wuld also do for it
I agree with white. Semi-gloss.
White goes with EVERYTHING. I always do doors and trim in semi-gloss white.
Doesn't matter what color the walls or other accents are. White always works.
Makes it easier when you get sick of the wall color and want to change it. You don't need to re-do the doors and trim
Add another vote to white (or even a slightly off white). Trust me, after seeing a house with white walls and multi color trim or color on the walls with all the baseboards, doors and crown molding painted a color other than white, I vowed I would never own or do that in a house.
It was horrible and a HUGE turnoff for us.
Hi we have built a log home and are having questions about what to paint the interior doors. We are going to paint the front door and outside doors a deep turquoise but what about the interior side? Any suggestions
I painted my walls a creamed coffee color and matched the doors to it but in semi-gloss. I broke it all up by painting the trim and casings and baseboards a high-gloss creme. I used a brick orange or Oriental Red as the accent walls. The ceiling matched the trim work in a creme tone. Very awesome. I will always match the walls to the doors from now on.
