  3. BUF vs BOS (BUF IN 7)
  4. PIT vs OTT (OTT IN 7)
  5. SJS vs COL (SJS IN 5)
  6. CHI vs NSH (CHI IN 5)
  7. VAN vs LAK(VAN IN 6)
  8. DET vs PHX (DET IN 6)
ROUND 2:
  1. WSH vs NJD (WSH IN 6)
  2. BUF vs OTT (OTT IN 7)
  3. SJS vs CHI (CHI IN 7)
  4. VAN vs DET (DET IN 6)
CONF. FINALS:
  1. WSH vs OTT (WSH IN 6)
  2. CHI vs DET (CHI IN 7)
FINALS:
  1. WSH vs CHI (WSH IN 7)
Keep in mind they re-seed the playoffs

So your 2nd round would be:

WSH v OTT
BUF v NJD
SJS v DET
CHI v VAN

may not affect you western finals or final representative, but it would your eastern finals

I think we'll see more upsets than just the #5 seeds winning though - regardless of what happens you wont get a #1 and #2 seed playing each other in the 2nd round

Yeah that's very true I should have picked that up. Well when round 2 come's I'll remake those predictions.

It is truly sad that hockey is the only major sport in the U.S. that does not get prime time coverage during the playoffs. The last few years, even the Finals were not on national T.V. until game 3. The VS channel is not even part of basic cable programming with most providers. You have to get the upgrade just to watch a game. Imagine if they treated the NFL, NBA, or MLB like this. There would be rioting in the streets! Not to mention how televised NASCAR and golf are (puke). Don't get me wrong, but playing golf and watching it on T.V. are two very different things. Same with NASCAR. I can understand the thrill of being at the track, but watching them go in circles on T.V. for 3 hours? Really?

What has to change for the NHL to get the primetime coverage that other sports enjoy?

Brodeur is not the goaltender he once was as was evident when he was yanked in the olympics.
Philly have certainly had the Devils number this year and this was why Devils fans really wanted to avoid the Flyers in the playoffs. That said, the Devils have really hit their stride in recent games beating CAR 4-0, Atlanta 3-0, NYI 7-1 and BUF 2-1 in their last 5 games (conveniently forgot the defeat in Florida ) .. Also Marty has been very hot over these games.

I like to think the Playoffs are the start of a new season and we can throw the regular season record out. Also officials tend to be stricter with some of the physical stuff that is the bread and butter of the Flyers game.. Devils will HAVE to get their PP clicking because I feel they will get plenty of opps with the extra man.

I wanted to avoid Philly as much as the rest of the devils fans but now we are here I am feeling more optimistic... Here's to a good series between two big rivals and the Devs winning in 5

I agree with that, I can't watch NASCAR. Last race I went to was in Charlotte and one guy I worked with was hitting the beers at 6 a.m. so he passed out when the race started Golf is pretty much unwatchable on TV unless it's a major, the Masters was fantastic.

It's gotta get back on ESPN, I agree that games 1-2 of the Cup Finals on Versus sucks. I don't mind watching it on Versus but it lacks the nationwide exposure compared to ESPN.

Philly is dangerous and could play a spoiler; however, I think the Devils remember the sting of losing that game 7 against Carolina and will put the hammer down.

They could start by getting rid of Gary Bettman.

Agreed! I was at that Game 7 against Carolina last year and have never felt more dejected leaving a sporting venue. The atmosphere was unbelievable as the seconds ticked down and then Bam-Bam it was all over

Going to the Coyotes game tonight. Let's go Co-yotes! I have a feeling Bryzgalov is going to go al JS Giguere out there. It's been a LONG time since I've been to the white out. Nothing compares to it, maybe not even the Cardinals NFC title win. I'm more excited than Pee Wee Herman in a porno theater.

Do you anticipate anyone in the East having the defense and goaltending to stop the Caps? I like Detroit if someone can do them the favor of knocking out Washington.
