Regardless of outcome and intent, I don’t think anyone with any decent morals should ever even want to lace them up again following the involvement in such a tragedy.
That said, honestly, when one is playing in a league like that, they’d almost be better off playing in a Monday Night Mens League (Beer League.) The salary and talent level in those leagues are **** poor, yet these guys can barely even live normal civilian lives due to rigorous athlete schedules. At least in beer leagues you’re just having fun, keeping fit, while still able to keep a solid job and be a family man.
I’d be willing to bet the talent level in A/Elite men’s leagues is higher, or just as high at the very least, as it is in those trash leagues, without the stressful lifestyle that comes with.
