I never heard the crowd...at all. The rink should have been pushed closer to the home plate...and bleachers dragged into the outfield, in essence collapsing the stadium. The ice looked to be a mess with constant repairs needed. I hate both teams so it was good to see them beat each other up. Seriously though--no fights? A little disappointed at the Philly fans for chanting USA during the Canadian anthem...what's up with that?

It's appealing to a lot of people for the same reason football games in snow are so popular. However, except for the Buffalo game and maybe the Boston game, the "winter" element to the game has been lacking.....still drawing great numbers (for hockey) though...
just hope it doesn't get rained out, which will happen one of these days, especially if you try markets like St Louis or Washington DC....
I think it's been touched on already, but for a lot of people watching it reconnects the professional game with the game we all remember as children -
I remember staying in town after school to play shinny on the outdoor rink. There were times when everybody's dad would show up and instead of taking us home, they'd end up starting a game of their own. Sometimes we'd be out there under the lights until 11 or 12 at night.

If memory serves Philly fans booed and pelted Santa Claus, yes Santa Claus, at a football game in 1968. You expect too much from them.
