Everyone knows we need OFFENSE more then anything and if he doesn't pick Tavares, I think they'll lynch Garth right on the spot!

how bout this? No Tavares, Islanders are leaving the Island.

That pretty much describes how desperate they are

I've been a die hard Islander fan my whole life and with an owner who is unwilling to put money into the team, or build an adequate arena, or get a half way decent GM it means trouble. They needed to let Neil Smith run the show and let Ted Nolan do his thing too.

I liked Nolan for years.I wish the Islanders would have done right by him but unfortunately that's the organization. The same one that got rid of Luongo and the same one that got rid of Neil Smith before he could get this team in order.

It's been proven that a solid goalie can carry you into the playoffs unfortunately we let him go long ago and our current guy (DiPietro) can't even stay healthy for one full season!

Talking Did I spot a Garth Snow imposter?

As a long time Islander fan it has been a long time since we took a major step in the right direction but finally a ground breaker.I was certain that Garth would do his usual and grab a defenseman for a team that has no offense but finally he did the right thing.Hopefully now with maybe a free agent signing or two we can bring in a little more assistance to put the puck in the net.Welcome to Long Island John Tavares!!!

LOL, no we got "snowed" with our second pick. That defenceman was ranked about 10 spots worse than where we picked him by the THN and other scouting organizations.
We needed a big power forward with a mean streak.

I wish we would have avoided a defenseman altogether and went with more offense and why did we go for back to back goalies after that? GARTH!!! What would Neil Smith have done if we didn't get rid of him? I'm sure we would have loaded up on offense.
