Never liked Yashin. Reminded me of the Kosititsyn brothers in Montreal. Great talent and potential, but no heart. Yashin was also a locker room cancer when he played in Ottawa. He sat out all or most of a season over a contract dispute if I'm not mistaken. Ottawa made out like bandits in that trade to get Chara. In 4 seasons, they finished #1 in the East twice and got to game 7 of the ECF in Chara's second season there.

This is also part of the Islander tradition. We love to trade away talent for less. Our current #1 goalie was or is Rick DiPietro. The guy who was and still should be in our net is Roberto Luongo.

I remember very well. Roberto Luongo, Zdeno Chara, Michael Peca, Dave Scatchard, Jason Blake, Marius Czercawski, Roman Hamrlik. Had good players, all but Luongo and Chara were on that '02 team.
