I am sure that if that worthless criminal sack of crap Betttman has anything to do with it, he will prevent Winnipeg from ever getting a team, and keep Phoenix losing money rather than moving them to the hockey-rabid Toronto area.

Bettman fights for Phoenix because he's getting a nice compensation from the city of Glendale to keep the team there for another season, and he gave up Thrashers without a single attempt to keep them in Atlanta other than empty promises to Thrashers fans, moreover according to some of the sources he signed off on that deal months ago.
If by hockey-rabid area you refer to Hamilton, they need to support their farm club for starters. It's pretty pathetic that Houston Aeros who they face in playoffs right now have almost twice the attendance Hamilton has.
Also if I'm not mistaken the MTS Centre has only 15,000 seat capacity. Assuming that they gonna sell out every single game in the coming season it's still gonna put their average attendance just 1,500 people above Atlanta.
Sure, Canadian economy is stronger than American and so is Canadian dollar, but they better hope that it'll stay that way, and that newly formed Jets will deliver quality games, otherwise Winnipeg will be back where they were 15 years ago.

Except that in Winnipeg none of those tickets would be freebies or sold at near-giveaway prices like they offer in Atlanta, Florida, Phoenix, etc.
