I've been following Philly sports eons. "Crushing" "heartbreaking" loses are nothing new to me. I watched the 93 Phillies, the 01-04 Eagles, the Flyers the better part of the last 3 decades (and all the heartbreak) and the Sixers are always a tease.
I'm used to it. I've grown immune to heartbreak. I know not to get my hopes up because that's always step 1 to heartbreak. I'm pretty hungover. I'm going to get rid of this playoff beard and go get a cheeseburger.

I dont cheer for other teams losing (except Dallas Cowboys on occasion). Flyers played a hard series. Both teams need to get better goaltending. Late in the third I was gripping and hoped that a fluke goal wouldn't decide it. Then the Flyers caromed one in to tie....for what seemed their 3rd or 4th flukey goal of the series. Then in OT Leighton had bad positioning.

Flyers need a few more guns and a goaltender. If I didnt hear Hartnell, Giroux, or Briere then the Flyers werent scoring.

Basically, the Hawks coaching allowed the Flyers to tie the game by attempting to play the trap and protect a lead FOR AN ENTIRE PERIOD. To make that worse, they HAD to know the Flyers would be coming on strong in the final period in a must win game on home ice.

The better option there would have been to stay aggressive and keep the Flyers back on their heels as they had been doing up til then. Sometimes the best defense is your offense especially when your offense is working.

Yes, The Hawks did win and you have my congratulations for that but using adjectives like "crushing" is just plain absurd.
By crushing I meant-"a loss in OT in a do or die game"

Congrat's to the Blackhawks as I was truly hoping they'd beat the Flyers.

Congrat's also to the Flyers inasmuch as they barely made it into the playoffs (after beating my Rangers in the final game of the season ), but then going all the way to within 2 wins of the Cup. Good for them!
