Would the Wehrmacht have been nearly as fearsome? Or would they have been much kinder during their occupation of foreign countries?

They would have been easier to spot everywhere but North Africa. Their behavior was controlled by their officers so no change could be expected.

Yes. But perhaps kinder, gentler colors might have led to kinder, gentler behavior. And even human atrocities might have been palatable if done with a more artistic flair.

In later years, there would be almost zero neo-Nazis, because any time such were to show up, jeering crowds would counter-demonstrate looking like an accident in a giant chalk artwork kit.

I am not really sure where this Thread is headed
I understand the intent, but am not sure it is appropriate.
I don't think the color of the uniforms had anything to do with the atrocities and devastation that happened..
Enlighten me, please...

Trudy, c'mon. It's just a joke thread that kind of satirizes all these "What If" threads. I just took an absurd proposition just to see where people would run with it.

I think the uniforms were particularly well done, considering they were made by Hugo Boss - the lines of those uniforms were impeccable.

They could have been lavender and still been equally as striking.

I believe that the stylish lines of the Wehrmacht might have been one of the contributing factors to the French collapse. They swooned over the couture of it all, abandoning their positions and allowing the Germans to sweep through France like Joan Rivers through an Emmy Awards red carpet presentation. At the same time, I wonder if the blacks and grays were perhaps too somber and serious. Perhaps some puce or coral would have made them happier, friendlier Ubermen.

What if they were supplied by Walmart, would that matter?

Sure. The French, for starters, would have probably fought much harder to keep them out. "Mon Dieu! Le Polyester!"
