A few more items that came out of the Great War......

Men's wrist watches became popular, instead of pocket watches. Aircraft.

Dehydrated food. Crossword puzzles. The photo post card.

The use of sound ranging microphones, to pin point enemy artillery gun positions.

Skin grafts to teat burned patients.

The zipper was patented in the mid 19th century, and the company that eventually became known as Talon began manufacturing zippers around the turn of the century. What the war did was boost to its business, and help spread the zipper's popularity.
