2014 has only one month with a Friday the 13th that being in June. Both the months of September and December Sundays will fall on the 7, 14th, 21st and 28th. As well as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years 2015 will fall on a Thursday. If you please your employer this may be a year of the 4 day weekend. The 4th of July will fall on a Friday this year -- remember this is in scheduling your vacation. It is a way of extending that 2 week vacation. Trust me the early you schedule the more likely you will be to take advantage of this fact. Valentines day is a Friday so you and your sweetheart can schedule that 3 day getaway. February, March and November all begin on a Saturday.

President of the United States: James Madison and VP Elbridge Gerry (D) (Who?) Died in office of Heart Failure November 1814 (70 years old);
Number of Ratified States: 18 however the flag of the US from 1795 - 1818 bore 15 Stars and 15 stripes;
States: 14 & 15 had been Vermont and then Kentucky;
Washington was burning August 24, 1814;
Speaker of the House: Henry Clay (Warhawk) of Kentucky. It was the 13th Congress of the US. Lincoln on Henry Clay: "My ideal of a great man" ;
September 13, 1814: The burning of Baltimore - Francis Scott Key and "The Star Spangled Banner" during the bombardment of Fort McHenry, Baltimore, MD - prior to this "The Liberty Cap" had been significant as a National Symbol (Linkage to Caps of freed slaves in ancient times).
Treaty of Ghent signed on December 24, 2014 ending "The War of 1812".
