Anyone with MRSA should do research on Colloidal Silver and just take that. The big MRSA scare is so unnecessary. Yes it is true that western medicine has NOTHING for MRSA but that isn't to say that there is no antidote out there at all. Natural medicine has a plethora of things. A top quality Colloidal Silver is on the top of the list. It is a medicine chest in a bottle.

Colloidal silver is a dangerous and unregulated product which has not proven to have ANY beneficial effects on the human body but has many documented side effects including:

1. Argyria, the dangerous buildup of silver in the tissues which causes a non reversible bluish discoloration.

2. Other side effects including kidney damage, seizures, GI distress, fatigue and skin disorders.

3.Claims of the efficacy of colloidal silver in the treatment of disease or prevention of disease are completely unsubstantiated scientifically.

4. Some "practitioners" will claim that certain diseases are the result of a silver "deficiency" which colloidal silver can correct.....this despite the fact that silver is NEVER naturally found in the body.

5. Number 1 test if a product is a Medical Quack....any product that claims to "cure" a myriad of illnesses belongs in a medicine side show...in that vein colloidal silver has been purported as a "treatment" for Cancer, AIDs, syphillis, TB, herpes, pneumonia and prostatitis among many others as well as an "alternative" to antibiotics

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.....picture of Argyria

Right, and we have MRSA because of the overuse of antibiotics. There are reports out there that singulair could be linked to suicidal thoughts. Not to mention the debacles with Vioxx, Rezulin, and Fen-phen. Yes, natural remedies can be dangerous if misused and not thoroughly studied, but then again, the FDA is not exactly the most accurate measure of a drug's safety.

And yet the drugs you mentioned above WERE pulled from shelves along with many others when health risks were identified....

But you can still buy a toxic substance to drink like colloidal silver...where is the oversight of these "natural remedies"....oh, thats right, there isn't any oversight.

Go figure....

Yes, however there are still loads of drugs that are regulated but can still kill. Someone could suddenly develop liver problems, not know about it, and die from lactic acidosis because they take metformin. Some antidepressants increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. I had to stop one medication because it was causing me to have edema and shortness of breath which could have lead to congestive heart failure. The point is, there are risks with any medication you take whether there is government oversight or not.

I am not denying there are risks with medications, of course there are, but at least you are able to make an informed decision regarding risks vs benefits and weight the decision. Why? Because the information is readily available

I have a problem with folks that tout toxic substances like colloidal silver which, if it were classified as a drug, would NEVER be available for purchase or internal use and act like it is superior to a heavily tested pharmaceutical.

At least agencies like the FDA continue to monitor drugs and reactions to drugs even after they have received approval for human use.

There is no oversight of nutraceutical or homeopathic medications of any kind....

no clinical trials...

no manufacturing requirements to monitor potency and assure consistency of the product across batches...

no need to report adverse events to a monitoring agency of any kind...

no need to prove ANY sort of efficacy before making outrageous claims about the potential uses and benefits...

little or no recourse to the victim harmed by the ingestion of such "harmless" compounds like silver or ephedra( a "natural" debacle that rivals any of the above traditional medications)
