If I switch health insurance plans with the same provider or switch health insurance providers, do I get any of the money back, that I put in but never used?

Thank you.

No, because you had insurance while you were paying for it.

Where did you "put in" the money?
  • Premiums to keep insurance in force - no, you don't get premiums back, just like auto ins.
  • FSA (Flexible Spending Account) - use it or lose by the day you quit
  • HSA (Health Savings Account) - it's all yours just like an IRA

Depends on when you cancel the policy. If you paid premiums for November, for example, and cancel the policy as of November 15th, you would get a partial month premium returned to you, but outside of a partial month, no, you would not get anything back.

NO...of course not! That's how insurance companies make their money...but selling you the insurance, and hoping you never need it!
