I am coming to work at the NN shipyard on 9/12 for a contractor. I will need to stay in an extended stay type place until I find out how long the job is going to last, etc.

Do you have any recommendations or warnings about any of the extended stay near the NN Shipyard?

Any rentals that do not require a lease or do short term leases?

Extended Stay Hotels - Select Hotel Rooms

I'm partial to Hampton Inn & Suites, but I don't think there are any in NN near the Shipyard.

The closes is the Marriott TownPlace Suites in Harbour View in Northern Suffolk. The hotel is located on the first exit off the Monitor and Merrimac Bridge Tunnel and the NN shipyard is directly across the bay. Maybe a 10 min drive max depending on traffic.

I think we are going to try the Savannah Suites in Hampton. Any problems with that one or area?

Not sure about the hotel, but the area is okay. Lots to do around there.

If that doesn't work out than try the ones in North Suffolk. It's a better area with an okay amount to do.

Hello! And welcome to the Newport News area. I just ran across your post and see that you have a need for lodging. I am the Area Manager for Extended Stay Hotels. I have 3 in the Newport News/ Hampton area. We are all located within a 10-15 mile radius of the Shipyard. The majority of our guest are working for Northrop Grumman and the Newport News Shipyard. We actually have a hotel, Extended Stay America Hotel directly across from the Savannah Suites. I would love the opportunity to give you a site tour or send you more information on our establishment. The hotels are all equipped with kitchens and located in safe, convenient areas. Thank you for your time and please feel free to contact me at tjames@extendedstay.com. You can also call us at 757-873-2266. Have a great day! Tomiko James
