Sorry, guys - but until you folks in CA remove the yolk from around your own necks, it's the price you pay for your predecessors thinking "That law won't affect ME"!!
I've added gun stores to my list of "crooked businesses" along with check cashing places, used car dealerships, casinos, large banks and companies that use door-to-door salesmen ... not because of their products, but because of their willingness to screw customers at the drop of a hat.
I haven't bought a single gun related thing during this latest stupid scare. I laughed when I saw Cabellas was selling Sig 556 rifles at 2600 bucks a pop a couple weeks ago though.
Stripped lowers are going for up to 500 bucks. The part that sucks is all the FFLs are screwing people over the DROS now. The cheapest I've found that will do any xfer is 85 bucks. 85 bucks for a 10 inch long piece of aluminum that looks like a kitchen tool.
That's crazy. Must be a San Diego thing, or California, or something. The dealers out here are still charging the same as they always have for xfers - usually $20-30, plus the brady tax, if required.

They are not screwing them on the DROS but the transfer. If they charge anything but 25 dollars for the DROS then alert the BOF. Now they can charge any amount they want to transfer in or out a weapon.

where are you seeing stripped lowers for $500. I looked and Tactical Machining is $109, but backordered. I don't doubt you, but would like to see who is selling for this price and if people are buying.
I'm seeing some of the stores fill up with more stock, but I think it's still a long way from meeting all demand.
