35 new laws taking effect Thursday in NC | BlueRidgeNow.com

"Gun-rights advocates praised a new law that gives citizens more legal standing to fire their lawful weapons to protect themselves from illegally entering their homes, cars or businesses."

I sure hope the authors of this legislation have a better grasp of the language than the buffoon that wrote this article.

Even if its poorly written at least it represents a step towards common sense law. Nobody should ever fear criminal let alone civil repercussions for protecting themselves, their home or loved ones.

TK ~ No, my post clearly referenced the *article*, not the legislation.

"Even if its poorly written at least it represents a step towards common sense law.

No, it is the *news report* that is poorly written. That was the point of my intentionally *humorous* post [Mod cut].

And for the record, I agree w/ you statement: " Nobody should ever fear criminal let alone civil repercussions for protecting themselves, their home or loved ones."

But it entirely misses the point.

The law is a positive step forward, but N.C. has a long way to go on 2nd Amendment rights.
