If I lived on Haywood Road, would I drive all the way to Wade Hampton Boulevard to Ollie's? I doubt it. It is not that close to me.
If Ollie's had a store in the former Rugged Wearhouse next to Michael's, then I would go.
Bingo - I live 5 minutes from Haywood Mall (west of 385, south of downtown) - I despise Wade-Hampton with it's out-of-sync traffic lights and typical Greenville county, strip-mall dullness - I would never go to an Ollie's on Wade-Hampton. Of course, with Ollie's being close to the new Chipotle, I might check it out now.
I feel like the Haywood corridor is finally being revived - now, if Simon would upgrade that dump of an exterior Haywood Mall into something more palatable, then Haywood could really attract some upscale tenants - not holding my breath.

I don't mind Haywood's exterior. New Landscaping and resurfacing parking areas would help but most of the exterior walls belong to the department stores. Haywood has renovated their mall entrances with stone and wood awnings similar to Northlake in Charlotte. Most older malls just don't look that great on the exterior.
Haywood really needs more small shop space and a few full service restaurants. They could add more shop space in a small wing between Macys and JCP or build a new food court with a couple of larger restaurants fronting Haywood Rd between Macy and JCP. That would free up the old food court for smaller stores or junior anchors like H&M, Crate and Barrel, Container Store etc. I am really surprised they aren't attempting some sort of expansion with the emergence of Magnolia Park with new retailers and all those restaurants.
