I hope Haywood Mall will do well with I 385 closing until August. Are there any major developments at this mall for 2010?

Haywood Mall will be fine. Most people who shop there aren't driving from Columbia or Charleston to do so. It is a strong regional mall, and the largest in SC. There are very few empty storefronts at Haywood Mall, and the mall continues to add higher profile tenants (e.g., Apple in 2010).

In contrast, I was at Citadel Mall in Charleston today and it was sad how many empty storefronts there are. Many of the stores which are occupied by tenants are lower-end stores that better malls wouldn't have. Be glad that's nowhere close to happening at Haywood Mall.

385 is closing South of the metro area....south of Fountain Inn.....not even close to Haywood. The metro population will still be able to access Haywood just fine. This should in no way affect retail or restaurants at Haywood or Greenridge. It will mainly be a pain for trucking companies, drivers, etc and will probably also hurt gas stations/motels in the Simpsonville / Fountain Inn areas.
