I have heard riverside is good as well. Though there is a ton of pressure on the kids to perform perfectly. This comes from a friend with child in the school/
Riverside is called "Reeferside" by the kids for a reason. Mine both go there, one is tranferring out next school year, he hates it. Cops were there the other day because someone was smoking weed in the first floor bathroom. According to both of my kids, their friends AND the local police, Riverside has the highest amount of drug use in the Gville County Schools. Their reason - police say the more affluent kids have the money to buy drugs and the dealers know it. OTC drugs (triple C's) and RX drugs are sold in the halls and lunch. Yes, the test scores are good but the atmosphere is not where you want your child. Mine is a senior next year and the other got approval to go to another high school. The bad thing....the principal turns his head and refuses to admit to the problem because the school scores so well. Blue Ridge High is where mine will go next year.

Unfortunately, drugs are a problem no matter where you go. My step-son has access to marijuana at his MIDDLE SCHOOL, so you can imagine how much we're looking forward to him going to high school next year.
my child is a junior at riverside, she likes the school, is challenged by the work load, and has found some friends. i volunteer and find the school very approachable. they school has an active student body and parents seem to be involved. i get regular email on her marks and the attendance office is well run, they take regular field trips and the cafetaria is well run. you can go to there web site on greenville county schools, they also accept visitations by parents. so far i am very happy with it.
My advice, I would go talk to the police in your area and they can give you the stats on which school has what problem. Then you will have unbiased info to go on.

Thank you! My husband is a police officer in Greer and he can confirm this fact. RHS students are among the weathiest and have access to the money to buy the drugs, hence the bigger problem.
