Tuesday is my b'day and as is custom in most families I get to pick where I want to go out to dinner. Two years ago we went to trio, it was very good. Last year was lame we watched a really boring Shakespeare play @ falls park and by the time it was over everything was closed since it was a Sunday night, so I think we just went to Stax. Restaurant O looks awesome but I have a 6 month old daughter and it looks too fancy to bring her. I'm open to anything, preferably non smoking of course . Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Well if you are not looking for anything fancy. You could come to Country Earls Celebration Place. Located in Simpsonville on balcome blvd. It a southern food buffett with live music around 6 I think they start playing maybe later. They have fried chicken baked chicken, Broiled talpia, flounder, shrip,Rice gravy, french frys, Mac and cheese Cat fish, peach cobler, And some times Banna pudding, And I can't think of what else. They are al so a no smoking no drinking Restaurant

I was going to say Restaurant O. You ruined it. How about Chuckie Cheese? You could feel like a kid again and not so old.

I haven't moved yet and haven't eaten at very many restaurants in Greenville. When we were in town back at Easter, we really enjoyed the Overlook Grill - dined outside overlooking the falls. The crab cakes were to die for. "Upscale" food - casual atmosphere - not terribly expensive.

Try Takosushi, its family friendly and not too expensive, I work there and love it so I have to mention it! I will be there tomorrow night, its right near the corner of McBee and Main, hope you find what your looking for!

Based on your post, I'm not really sure what your requirements are in terms of price or atmosphere (especially with a six month-old). So if you can give us more info, I will be glad to suggest places that fit your specific criteria.

As you know, anywhere you go in the city will be non-smoking due to the smoke-free ordinance.

A few places to consider that aren't too expensive but still provide good atmosphere and food:

-Saskatoon (Haywood) - cozy mountain lodge atmosphere with wild game on the menu like buffalo, kangaroo, and ostrich. One of my faves.
-Lemongrass (Downtown) - one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. Good atmosphere, great service, and exceptional food. The prices are very reasonable too.
-City Range (Haywood) - a very underrated restaurant in Greenville.
-MiMi's Cafe (Woodruff) - great food, plus you can even get breakfast all day.

Hope this helps! And happy early birthday!
