You may want to contact the NC Housing Coalition as they specialize in helping people who had something from their past that makes it difficult to secure housing. They may be able to give you multiple options/referrals for the area you're interested in (contact information is on the first link, a description of the agency is on the second link).

im needing a 3br house for rent i currently need something asap and have to be out of my apt for legal reasons with my current spouse. but everywhere im applying keeps denying because of things on my credit and im looking for a nice home safe area for me and my three children does anyone know where i can find private owned homes for rent or apts that have second chance programs that will approve me even with things on my credit.
