Does anyone have one of these? What is the estimated ROI?

I'm also curious to see what people who own one have to say about the ROI.

We had planned on putting a geothermal system in our house we just did a major remodel on but for us the cost was going to be very expensive in addition to tearing up our yard. Don't remember all the details - but our house sits on solid rock on a knoll.

That's actually a very complex question and there are a lot of factors specific to your region, your neighborhood, your contractor, your selected system and your house that would have to be audited.

If you are in a very hot, humid, coastal area your savings for cooling may not be very dramatic.

I cannot address the ROI. As others have pointed out, that depends on your climate and local power costs, not to mention how the building is constructed. Your HVAC person should be able to crunch the numbers for you.

What I can say is that we have been pleased with the performance of system we installed in our home when we built it in 1986. We are still running the original units!

My husband likes to be cold, so our cooling costs are probably higher than other more normal people would run. We live in GA, so cooling trumps heating.

The ground lines for our system are in vertical holes drilled in rock.
