If you are on the lake front, just be aware that water related snakes seek shelter on the shore. That is, if you have a kayak or some other item that you use on the water and it is pulled ashore, then there is a chance that a snake(s) have gone under the thing. Mostly water snakes as opposed to Moccasins.

I live in GA. Not all that far from Eatonton. I think you should know that I believe Southern hospitality is mostly myth. There are good folks everywhere and jerks living amongst them.
