Also, I was thinking about where Cleveland is better than Chicago, and I could only think of a few things:
- Little Italy neighborhood (I've heard their are better ones in the suburbs of Chicago, but I only saw the one by Univ of Illinois at Chicago)
- Indoor Food Market -- Cleveland's Historical Westside Market https://www.city-data.com/forum/cleveland/1055087-clevelands-westside-market-named-best-america.html
- Cleveland's Theater District (Second largest outside of NYC)
- Classical Orchestra's (TIED -- both are a part of the BIG FIVE in America)
- Major Hostpitals -- Cleveland Clinic and Rainbow Babies @ University Hospitals
Other than that, Chicago wins in every other category ...including Sports
Because I was pretty sure LA, San Francisco or Chicago was #2 in total theaters/seats, and I know Minneapolis was #2 in total seats/capita......so how is Cleveland #2, and do you have a source?
I'm just curious -- this would be the first I've heard this, so I'm just surprised.
"As the country’s largest performing arts center outside of New York, the not-for-profit performing arts center utilizes the arts to engage individuals and attract over one million guests per year to its 1,000+ annual events."
We're talking about a District here, not overall number of theaters and seats across a city. I was referring to a section of Cleveland's Downtown.
There are 9 Performance venue within a 2 Block radius: "Today PlayhouseSquare’s nine performance spaces include the Palace, State, Ohio, Allen, Hanna and 14th Street Theatres, as well as Kennedy’s Cabaret, the Westfield Insurance Studio Theatre and Star Plaza," with the first five all built in the 1920's (aka gorgeous)
