Dakota less the North or South as gotten reasonably popular. It sounds pretty cool to me which most likely means it's already gone mainstream. So I just did a google search and found the info below

"United States. Past 5 years. Web Search. Dakota is the #270 most popular girls' and #344 most popular boys' name in the U.S., according to 2021 Social Security Administration data."

Agreed. If you drop north/south then Dakota, and Carolina. Some of these others being suggested are nicknames or last names.

Not a state but I always thought Cheyenne, as in the capital of Wyoming would be a nice name for a girl.
