What states in the US come in on your top 10 for those with the best tourist attractions? My list is below:
10. Tennessee--country/rock/blues capital. Smokies & Gatlinburg.
9. Texas--lots of beach. Some good theme parks and cities.
8. Nevada--for pure "Vegasland" itself. A huge draw.
7. North Carolina--theme parks, mountains, beaches
6. Virginia--History, theme parks, beach, mountains
5. New York--NYC and good beaches, nice natural beauty upstate.
4. Pennsylvania--history, cities, theme parks and gorgeous natural wonders.
3. Hawaii--most beautiful rain forests and serene beaches.
2. Florida--strong second, with beaches, weather, theme parks galore.
1. California--by far. Amazing natural attractions and kick butt theme parks.

Id replace either TN, TX or NC with AZ, which has places like Canyon De Chelly, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Tombstone, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, etc, as well as all the resorts in Scottsdale.

I agree with all but South Carolina and South Dakota. AZ would've been my #11 pick. SD though? What's in SD? The Black Hills and the monument...any large cities, beaches, theme parks, etc? I'd rank SD in the bottom 10, personally. As for SC, maybe 20 or so...

Obviously you don't live in Maryland, Ohio, Pa, or Michigan.............we all go to Virginia Beach or the Outer Banks in NC on vacation.......... other favorites are Myrtle Beach and Florida.

Sorry, I deleted my message, because I was having a hard time choosing a top ten list. I like the whole country and the persons visiting will have to decide where they want to visit. No reason really for putting them together except D. C. is not a state and I was running out of numbers. They are very close together and a lot of people working in D. C. live in Northern Virginia.
I would be interested to know what the top ten tourist attractions are from statistics. I will go looking for that. I know the Blue Ridge Parkway is high on the list.
