New York City: I think many songs by Enya, such as "Pilgrim" or "Lothlorien" would do especially if you think about the enviornmental friendliness such as place has concerning density. I also think of "Only Time" because that was the unofficial song of the 9/11 attacks. I also think of trance songs too as good for NYC, especially atmospheric and fast ones.

Denver/Littleton: I think a good song would be "Colorado Columbine" which is a song Lullaby for Columbine, after the shooting at the high school. A lot of other Christian songs would fit there too such as anything by Vineyard.

With all respect to The Replacements and Prince, when I think of a perfect Minneapolis song, I keep thinking of I Remember Romance by The Flamin' Oh's. They were a great band!

If the song has to reference something specific about the city, then I'd go for "Skyway" by The Replacements
