Except for the Oregon school district, the rest are in either Westchester County NY or Fairfield County CT.

And the average home price in Weston has now dropped to about $750K whereas in neighboring Westport it is about $1.25 million. That gap used to be much narrower - Weston has become a real bargain, especially relative to other towns in Fairfield county.

The Northeast in particular is filled with tiny school districts that serve very specific communities. It's no surprise to me that that this list is almost exclusively in the greater NYC metro.
In many parts of the country, school systems are county-wide and serve a much more diverse socio-economic population.

Lol, you know a state is expensive when people think a median house price of 750k is a "bargain".

That's how people in southwest CT think. If a towns home price is less than a million, it's affordable. Haha.

Hm. I think this list is probably indication of some of the most socially segregated areas of the country.

Don't think this list is anything to celebrate ... it's quite disturbing in fact.

In terms of? I'm only asking, because I may think I know where you are going with that statement.

in Indianapolis 100,000$ can get you a great home middle class in the city or Suburban.
now if you were to take 750,000$ you could buy a Mansion on Meridian Street. Those homes go for nearly a Million dollars or more. They also have massive yards and are built into the nice forest in Washington Township.
