Out of 387 metros, my area was 90th.

Portland is 52nd with $47,600 being the average pay. Surprisingly, this places it right in between Dallas and Houston.

We are #12. Naturally, those of us at the top of the list are also the places with the higher cost of living, so a better study would show highest amount of disposable income.

Philly came in 27th, tied with San Diego. And we're up 8 spots from Danbury, CT and Portsmouth, NH, so chew on that New England kids...

Warren-Troy-Farmington Hills, MI is 60th.
Detroit-Livonia-Dearborn, MI is 45th.

It's interesting because the higher median income suburbs are in Warren-Troy-Farmington Hills (also larger population)
