Hi everyone,

I am moving from SC to FL. About 550 miles. I only need a 16ft truck and am having no problem finding those. However, I also need to pull my 4Runner. I am having a very difficult time finding a company that has a trailer with big enough straps to go around the tires.

I went to U-Haul over the weekend and the traps were probably 12" too short.

I stopped by Penske today and although I didn't load my car onto the trailer it looked like their straps were much longer.

My tires aren't even that big, 31"-32".

Has anybody been successful renting a car trailer from a major company?

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Only for a small car.

Pull the 4runner on a dolly.
Load up the SUV with boxes and drive it the 550 miles.

It's 4WD, so a dolly won't work. Driving it is a last resort. I'm trying to keep the wear and tear off of it.

then trailer the 4runner.
as for miles... it's only 550.

Load up BOTH vehicles with boxes and such.
Send the rest down in a POD. No 16 foot rental.

Try Budget, my son has a Isuzu Rodeo and they had a flat bed trailer that would tow his truck behind the 16' moving truck
