We're moving to Texas from Pennsylvania in about 2-4 months, and we're having a hard time deciding on a moving company.
I've been looking at UHaul trailers, PODS, ReloCubes, UPacks, etc, but I'd like to get some advice from people before picking one. In our past moves, we never used a moving company, just our vans/trucks.
We wouldn't be bringing much, just clothes, a few small boxes of personal belongings, and a large 4x8 table that is a family heirloom.
What moving companies/services have you guys used and which do you think is best for cross-country moves?
We used Allied Van Lines. We interviewed several local movers, and chose the Allied company that could give us the easiest move. Their reps were professional. We were not disappointed.
If you are interested in hiring a full service mover, I'd advise checking with your local BBB, and possibly Angie's List, to make sure the companies you talk to are legit, and have few complaints.
Ask the same questions of each rep, and make sure you understand how they would move you.
It will be expensive, but it might be worth it to you.
The thing that tipped the balance for us, was that the company could facilitate the shipping of a car. The cost was competitive for that service.
Before hiring the services of any warehouse, firstly one should take the advice of people who have used services earlier would be a logical step. It would help in knowing the good and bad things about the various storage houses.
I would also like to add that there are many sites that do comparison of various relocation service provider on basis of your requirement. You can also find out the reviews and customers feedback to make a better selection.
