I took the DNA test. My entire family of generations is Ashkenazi or Western European Jewish.
A new study just out said that most AShkenazi women are decendants from Italian pagans who converted to Judaism in the early Roman Empire. My mom tested positive for this K Haplogroup.
My dad to my surprise tested positive on the SNP L47 mutation group on the Y chromosome of course.
This appears to be heavy Germanic origins. I know of NO history of any Germanic people converting to Judaism at all.
Not sure what the connection to Germanic origins to Ashkenazi Jews. Yes I know Jews from Italy moved to the Rhine valley during the Roman Empire. But my dad tested Germanic and not Italian or Middle Eastern so it makes it more confussing. Well my dad's ancestors not him lol.
DG440, there are possibilities other than conversion to Judaism - rape for example.
