I grew this from seeds that I picked off of a plant in a garden at a hospital about 6 years ago. At the time, I had only seen pictures of agapanthus, and based on the shape of the dried flower head that I picked the seeds off of, I thought that was what it was. Later, when I actually saw one in a nursery, I realized that what I was growing was NOT agapanthus. So then I did some research and thought I had hit on it with society garlic, but no....the flower shape was right, but the leaves weren't quite the same (and no smell!).

The seeds germinated readily and the plants have grown steadily, through flood, drought, winter cold....never flagging. But they have never bloomed. I'm sure it's a common garden plant, but for some reason, I just have NOT been able to identify this one. I'm ready to know what it is!

It looks sort of like ribbon grass but that gets to be around 3 feet tall or so.

I looked at your photos yesterday, there are several possibities: crocosmia, pampas grass, sedge, some type of iris relative, or it may be agapanthus. Give it another season, it may take two years to bloom.

Liriope. It's an ornamental grass.

Actually they do bloom, little grape lollipop stems in late summer. Yours may have been too young this year.

Grape lollipop? The leaves look a little thin, but maybe it's liriope. Liriope muscari Big Blue | Weston Nurseries

I thought it was society garlci, but you say it doesn't bloom. When checking other sites, others have posted pics like yours in size and kept saying they needed to divide there's.
And, I too am wondering if it will take another year to bloom.
Since it's not essential you know, I too would suggest you give it one more spring to see what happens.
The answer is probably so simple.
In any case, it sure looks like a healthy plant. Enjoy!

Nope, none of the above.

And I didn't say it doesn't bloom....I said it hasn't bloomed since I started it from seeds that I picked off of a dried flower head that I thought (because of the round shape) was an agapanthus (see op).

I thought it was society garlic too, but the leaves (as I said before) aren't quite the right shape and also have no smell.

Any more ideas?
