The flowers to me smell like camphor. It has a fragrance I don't enjoy, but the blooms are very pretty.
Most claim it's hardy to zone 9 and above, but it has been known to grow in SC and the lower/coastal parts of NC. I've been thinking of getting one, but I'm worried about the cold.
Paperhouse, that's it - Evergreen wisteria. I read that it's not a true wisteria and does not get invasive. I didn't think to smell it though, but perhaps I'll like camphor. I also found some sellers claiming it's hardy to zone 7. I'm going to have to do a little more research but I'm really interested in this plant.

I brought it into the Lowe's here. The grower (Carolina Nurseries) says it's hardy and from the looks of the pictures, it's been there more than a few months. I've been telling customers that it may or may not return, sort of like Confederate/Star Jasmine. And it's not a true wisteria. It's not invasive and that probably has a lot to do with whether or not it's truly cold hardy.
