This is the first time I have heard crickets in the month of December...and it is near-end.
Also, the locusts. I usually hear their song end in late October, early November. But they still
sing at dusk.
My fruit trees are all screwed up. Last year the only apple that I can grow here bloomed in December. This year it bloomed in October. No fruits, the following heat killed them.
Plants we take cuttings of must be between 80's and 60's. We just took them a week ago. We usually do this in Sept.
My blackberries are going to fruit a month earlier than usual, I see that. That is OK by me

Please, no politics, no haters, no things related to anything that is not just gardening.

I am in Rehoboth De. and it was 60 degrees last week one day and two days later it was half of that for the high. Have no idea if it is El Nino or La Nina, but, it is hot one day and cold the next. Other than mold what can grow in that kind of fluctuation?

When I was a kid the daffodils never used to appear until the end of February, now they start popping their heads out just after Christmas! These days the cherry blossom trees keep starting to flower throughout the winter months every time there is a mild spell, the ones near to where I work have some flowers on them right not and we have only just got to the shortest day!

Apple trees need a period of dormancy. I suspect that your climate is just too warm to grow them. It does vary with different cultivars so it would be best to check local nurseries.

My words: 'Last year the only apple that I can grow here bloomed in December. '

I know this. The apple cultivar was specifically created for my zone. Less than 300 chill hours.

And I have eaten apples from this tree
