I was pretty happy with Metro PCS Mobile Phone Provider, with unlimited voice, text and data for me and my wife. The whole plan costed $80 per month combined for us.

Now, that I have relocated to South Carolina (Myrtle Beach) area, Metro PCS is asking me to switch to a new provider, since they do not provide service in South Carolina.

Please advice the economical mobile phone service providers that provides service at a price comparable to the current cost or less with unlimited voice, text and preferably data capability

Regards!

Check out T Mobile through Wal Mart. I used them and got great coverage. It was around 40.00 + for unlimited everything, also. You have to go to Wal Mart to get the cheap price.

I pay $30 per month for unlimited wireless, phone, and text on Republic Wireless.

Prepaid Cell Phones - No Contract Cell Phones | Republic Wireless

The phone does not have all the bells and whistles of the most recent models BUT it is a lot better than the Blackberry Torch that I turned in.

T-mobile (be sure to get their $30/mo plan) or Virgin Mobile.. check their coverage maps first.

T Mobile is the best I've found. I have used Virgin, but "you get what you pay for". Virgin has crappy coverage and even crappier "customer service" (a complete joke).

Virgin is on Sprint's Network, but no roaming.

Tracfone's value plan is only $8.50 a month for one phone and $5.50 for any additional phones. Great coverage but you don't get the unlimited talk and data. For the very frugal, spending a whole lot of money to chat and send pictures won't do, you can always bring a lap top and get free wifi for the internet and picture sending.

For phone and texting, Ting. I think their data plan is expensive though

It really depends on the area.. Virgin mobile seems to better penetrate buildings and has better 3G coverage out in the boonies. But T-mobile definitely wins in 4G (no 4G for Virgin in Berkeley, wtf) and customer service (still waiting on an online chat interface for CS on Virgin.)

ATT has some new prepaid plans that start at $25 with unlimited texting so if you don't talk a lot I think that's a deal.
I'm currently on a Straight Talk plan with unlimited everything for $45.
