Well nobody can blame you for not wanting to live in College Park. If your hours are flexible it may be doable, the Inter County Connector is another option as that cuts off 270 before most of the traffic. Frederick is great but so are other options such as Mount Airy for instance.

I wonder if OP might like areas on the 29 or I95 corridor-North Laurel (really any part of Laurel), Columbia (previously mentioned), even Catonsville.

If you are in love with Frederick, have you looked into employment at Hood College, Frederick CC, Montgomery College, Hagerstown CC? There are some options in higher ed in those areas. Even Universities of Shady Grove (Rockville/Germantown area) would be a moderate commute from Frederick.

Don’t forget Mount St. Mary’s College, also very close.
