Flower Mound is great. It has a smart growth plan. There are only three apartment complexs in the city and the plan does not allow for any additional ones to be bulit. The schools in Flower Mound are great.

About the exemptions......we all have the $15000 homestead exemption, no matter what our age or value of the home. That's $15000 off the appraisal. We moved here from Columbus, OH 4 years ago, and property taxes there depend on school district and suburb, too. If you live in the country in Ohio, taxes can be very low...Ours were $1200 for 2200sf house with 5 acres, 4-stall barn, 4-car garage. Previous to that, we lived in a 3000 sf house on 1/2 acre in an upscale neighborhood, and our taxes were $5200. Make sure you compare apples to apples. Also, neither TX nor OH have personal property taxes.
