To tell the truth, DBJ (Dallas Business Journal) tends to be my primary source for developments in the metro area. They seem to get the news out faster than local sources like the Star-Telegram, FWBP, etc.
I always check the website hoping that there will be a new development in Fort Worth, lol

Default Sundance Square

Not exactly major news, but The Tower will have a new tenant.

Community Trust Bank opening office in The Tower

Community Trust Bank still plans on a multi-story building on the block of West 7th, Summit, 10th, and Penn, but this will do for now.

- New Oleander Apartments (name TBD)
Rosedale/Hurley/Oleander/7th Ave.., Near Southside
New apartments on Rosedale that have been on the drawing board for quite some time now.

Quote:
Oleander Investments, LLC plans a $40.9 million, five-story, 322-unit complex in the two blocks bounded by West Rosedale Street, Fairmount Avenue, Oleander Street, and Hurley Avenue. The 274,666-square-foot property would include 420 spaces in structured parking.

The Oleander developers are seeking $1.1 million in reimbursement for improvements they expect to make on West Rosedale, including replacing a retaining wall, Paine said. The group also plans stormwater fixes and streetscape work.
One of the two blocks is vacant, and the second includes an apartment building that the developers plan to demolish, Paine said.
The developers plan to start work on the 274,666-square-foot project in January and complete it in December 2016.

Good to hear!

I like the bridge connecting the two buildings...adds some functional character to the project.

Here's the FWBP article on it: Developers plan 573 Near South Side apartments, seek incentives

Should be interesting. Real estate people have been trying for some years now to get something built on that property. I think the goal is to make Rosedale out to be the counterpart to Magnolia in terms of the development along the street.

Although the address is wrong, this is just one of the buildings you will be seeing in "Left Bank".

"2222 W 7th St."

Right now, the city and the developers are working out any access issues.

Mixed Use

- Vickery Mixed Use Complex
200-298 Vickery, Near Southside

$60 million mixed-used project is being proposed for a 2-acre tract on Vickery Boulevard that could include a community garden with a grand staircase on South Main Street and 250 apartments, proposed10-story building and smaller two or three-story building. The two buildings would front Vickery and face each other across a pedestrian-friendly street coming off Vickery, and leading to existing transit parking beneath the I-30 overpass. A garage would include underground and above-ground parking - 300 spaces for a transit park and ride and 325 for residents and retail customers. One of the project requirements will be to replace all of the 100 spaces it removes, and add more for residents, retail customers, and users of the district. An “amenity deck” on top of the garage would include a swimming pool, green space, and trees.

No scheduled completion time.

Good news, Fort Worth core continues to add density. I think the southern end of downtown is going to see a lot of development in the coming years.

Wow, FW continues to impress me with these great developments. If only Dallas could get it's act together on the Trinity River vision...sigh.

Dallas has plenty of other things going on with their Uptown and may be adding a supertall skyscraper in the near future.

I wouldn't worry so much about Dallas. They have enough as it is.
