I'd much rather have a Central Market by HEB than a Whole Foods.

Waterside | Trademark Property

I would think the chances of having two WF that close to each other would be pretty low, unless they think they might pull from different areas of the city.

Good point.

And in a recent Star Telegram article, it was mentioned that Whole Foods was just considered to go to Left Bank.

Maybe they might surprise us?

I wasn't aware of the "Waterside" project. Thanks for the link. I hope that with this development and all that's going on with the Edward's Ranch/ Clearfork & the Panther Island plans that they keep the health of the Trinity in mind.

Here's some additional reading on WF & Waterside:

"Waterside, being developed on 63 acres along the Trinity River, will include 185,000 square feet of retail space and riverside restaurants, 20 to 30 acres of multifamily housing and town homes, 100,000 to 200,000 square feet of office space, and a hotel site."

P.S, who do I talk to in order to make this thread stick?

Besides the reasoning for it (news of development for this city) I think it has enough response for it...

Some MORE good news for Sundance Square:

Quote:
- The Westbrook Building is 90 percent occupied, two retailers are arguing for who gets the retail space at the corner of 4th and Houston
- Commerce Building is 97 percent occupied
- Retail sales are up more than 20 percent so far this year
- The Cheesecake Factory will open in December
- As a lot of you know, ESPN will be back here next weekend and for the National Championship Game.

I knew they were looking for another hotel in the Stockyards and in that lot, but I had no idea they were moving THAT fast. It's good to see the word "immediately" in terms of a new development in this town".
