Does anyone here live in Dean Park or has recently? I'd like some REAL knowledge about it. I've always loved it and I'm considering purchasing a property there. I know it's bordered by a couple rough neighborhoods but how is it actually in the park? I debated this once in this forum with a couple users that called it "the hood". That's clearly not the case, but I also want all the facts before I consider a move there. I firmly believe that real crime happens to those who look for trouble 99% of the time. I do have 3 kids though so I want to get as much info as possible.
I was shocked that the crime #'s were actually slightly lower for Dean Park than Edison Park (can you tell I like historic properties acording to floridamoves.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Default Dean Park

Hi there. Personally I love the neighborhood (It has soul!). We're big supporters of the River District (Downtown Ft Myers). You'll frequently find beautiful bungalo type homes, some on the water. B/c of its proximity to DT, you'll also find great access to nightlife, entertainment, and our local parks system.

I did some searching online and found this, I suspect you'd you appreciate the Historical Context section, as well as some of the general neighborhood info.

Additionally, PM me for the phone number of a pal that owns a small bungalo down there, I'm sure he'd chat for a few with you about what its like living there.

My cousin has a house for sale in Dean Park on the corner of Rhode Island and Cranford - it's the first house you see when you turn into the Dean Park Historic District. Its a really great property. If you're interested, send me a private message and I can put you in touch with his realtor.

I grew up going to Dean Park. It has a lot of history and love the fact that many homes have such character. Went to an open house off Jefferson today and really brought back some great memories.

Sitting up here in frigid, New England wondering again about a winter place in Ft. Myers. Are there any new insights about how historic Dean Park is doing not the foreclosure debacle has subsided? Is the neighborhood on the upswing?
