There was a poster that announced his candicy right here on city data. One of the things I asked him was about funding for parks and recreation. I won't endorse him because his answers weren't supportive of the program.

The cape does an excellent job with this area of business. To begin with it has multiple boat ramps throughout the city. It has some nice parks such as the stonis park on cetuis pkwy, and the yacht club beach/pool/boat slips. It has a nice city owned golf course (they are currently looking at privatizing the mgt of) . Yesterday I finally went to the city owned water park "sunsplash".

I had low expectations going into it (being a city run venture) but was more than pleasantly surpriised. Very clean, nice staff, multiple lifeguards at every slide/pool, almost no lines, prices were reasonable (especially for residents). Many people had 2 for 1 coupons and I got 20% off using my aaa card. We stayed untill closing and will def return. Not sure how busy it gets on the weekend but for a midweek day with kids top notch outing.

Gonna go negative. Mike greenwells batting cages/go carts. What a poorly run, dump of a place. Started out at the batting cages, with my 7 yr old. And you would think they would have said while giving him a bat that the little league cage was out of order...nope. and of course, no refunds. While we were doing this my sister and law and nieces were going to ride the go carts, they paid but then were told they couldn't ride because it started to rain, but they couldn't be refunded their money, they could only get. Tokens good for video games. My brother and his son were swinging away in other batting cages , which they said weren't pitching in the strike zone and my brother had to come in a couple times because the machines were just eating his tokens. Since me and my son were waiting we decided to play some video games, and of course they ate our tokens as well.

My son said it best "this place stinks.

I'd post that on Yelp and maybe report them to the BBB? Yelp is awesome for spreading the word about nice and not so nice places.....

Yeah, but there's a Facebook site to ask the questions in public!

About Mike Greenwell's batting cages, etc... Sorry to hear this. It was great 10 years ago or so. Maybe all that road construction on Pine Island - could have sunk the place into the red? Just guessing - I really have no idea.

Ugh. Road construction. Don't even mention road construction.
