The Blazer came with more than one motor and three different transmissions,I have owned all four of the american 4 wheelers ,jeeps are death traps to light ****ty handling on street,Dodge Ram with a 383 loved it ,became difficult to find any body parts,Bronco 351,broke down on me constantly engine, electrical, tranny all went to hell with less than 100,000 maintained religously still junk,K-5 Blazer 350,700r4 tranny best one of them all never broke down ,handles pretty much the same as Bronco,So as a ASE 35 year mechanic ,if you go with older 80s model four wheeler get the K-5 blazer the rest are junk,

Something about looking at your screen name with junior member directly below it made me laugh for some reason.
My best friend is looking for a 4x4 to haul his boat and do some off roading and he asked me what truck I would choose he is looking at a 91 K5 blazer with a 350 or a 95
full sized bronco with a 351 windsor being that I own a 91 f250 I am biased toward ford trucks so I said the bronco anyways what would you guys recommend? One thing that hit during this thread was dodge made the ram charger also I might as well throw that up too seeing as the trucks are all pretty much even
I would go with the Bronco, I really liked the 1980-96 Bronco's and I still wish they were making them today
I would go with the Ford Bronco. I had friend back in the early 1980s that owned a Chevy K5 and it rode like a truck and it spent a lot of time in the shop. One thing that you can say about all three is that they were the sport utes of that time. Unlike todays SUVs, most of which are nothing more than glorified station wagons.
You complain that it rides like a truck (which it is) and then complain about the glorified station wagons.. Sounds like you want the truck to ride like a station wagon and the SUV to be a truck.. Split personalities or just confused?

And I believe since 1987 all Blazers and GM trucks were fuel injected.
Last solid axle Blazer/Suburban/Crewcab was 1991 and as you stated 1987 was the first for fuel injection.
Only the 1973/75 Blazers were actual convertibles; the later years had a box-style top.
Actually 1969 to 1975 Blazers!
