New 2025 Ford Mustang to make its debut at the 2023 Detroit Woodward Dream Cruise.
Ford debuts first Mustang GTD as 'pinnacle' of legal street and track racing.
Mustang GTD shatters every preconceived notion of a supercar. This is a new approach for us. We didn’t engineer a road car for the track, we created a race car for the road. Mustang GTD takes racing technology from our Mustang GT3 race car, wraps it in a carbon fiber Mustang body and unleashes it for the street,” Ford President and CEO Jim Farley said in a statement. The Mustang GTD has the following features:
A carbon fiber body
First-of-its-kind suspension that adjusts spring rate and ride height settings for track and street conditions
Active aerodynamics
Eight-speed dual-clutch rear transaxle and carbon fiber driveshaft for ideal weight balance
Magnesium wheels that all combine to create an agile, ultra-high-performing Mustang
In the furure. People will look back at this and say, what were they thinking designing this thing. Its like with Hollywood, they have ran out of ideas.
Its a speciality car, not a common everyday driver. I dont know why people think its the "new" Mustang.
It is definitely a specialty car, I don't understand why so many people are dumping on it. I can't afford one, but it sounds pretty impressive to me - I'd love to be able to take one for a drive .

Because they think its the "NEW MUSTANG", and thats all there is.
Ford can obviously produce 300k supercar, the GT. Make one of those, don't rice out a Mustang.
Why not do something different vs continuing to do the same thing? It's a chance to add prestige to the Mustang brand.
